Installing Radiant Heat

Kelly is showing off our freshly painted radiators! True to her building science mindset, Lori Reese is switching our office (and her house) to radiant heat. If you ask her why she is doing this, she will point out that so many people have allergies these days because heat ducts are so dirty and blow dirty air around. Also, radiant heat does not dry out inside spaces like forced air so the house stays more comfortable and is healthier.

Expanding our office using Building Science methods

We are quite literally expanding! The exterior has been insulated with 2" rigid foam; furring strips over that give us something to nail siding to and allow for an air gap behind. It's all very scientific and Lori Reese can get up from her desk to teach the crew!

Check the vents and screening at bottom. The wall assembly will be vented at bottom and into vented soffit at the top! So exciting!
